Scout™ by Telenav Wins Best Automotive Navigation Solution at Telematics Industry Event

(NASDAQ: TNAV), the leader in personalized navigation, today announced that its Scout personal navigator has received another industry award for excellence. At Telematics Detroit 2012 this week, Scout for Cars was named as "Best Navigation Solution" for its innovation and technological advances in the automotive industry. Telematics Detroit is the world's largest and most influential business-focused conference in the telematics ecosystem.

Scout is the first daily personal navigator to be seamlessly accessible across the web, smartphones, and in-car systems, offering users an easy and consistent navigation and discovery experience no matter where they are. Scout goes beyond A-to-B navigation apps by providing personalized information about where to go, when to leave, how to get there, and things to do upon arrival.

Scout for Cars gives drivers access to the entire Scout personalized navigation and search service using in-car features and controls. Users simply connect their Scout-equipped phone to a compatible vehicle for an experience similar to a built-in navigation system, but without the high price tag, frustration of re-entering information, or expense of upgrading maps and points-of-interest (POIs). Scout for Cars will be formatted and displayed on the car's center stack screen to provide drivers with turn-by-turn directions and voice guidance channeled through the car's speakers. Depending on individual automotive OEM specifications, Scout for Cars can range from full-color moving maps to basic navigation prompts.

Scout is currently available on the Apple App Store and on the web at Scout.me. Later this year, Scout will be available on Android devices as well as in cars with Ford SYNC® AppLink™.

Last month, Scout won CTIA's Emerging Technology award for Mobile apps under the Productivity, Utility and Public Safety category. In addition, Scout received the 2012 Award of Excellence for Maps/Navigation in the Mobile Apps category from the International Academy of Visual Arts as part of its annual international Communicator Awards program.
